When young Icarus Candy scores a summer job at the local convenience store, he instantly finds himself wrapped under the warm wing of its magnetic and benevolent owner, Mr. Dalloola. From the outset, the pair strike an unlikely bond, but never quite see eye-to-eye when it comes to Dalloola’s gift for seamlessly winning customers' hearts at every miraculous opportunity.

 

Despite Dalloola’s glowing reputation around town, Icarus notices strange irregularities in the shopkeeper’s impeccable persona and becomes enticed by the influences of his fascinating past. In seeking the truth behind the charm, Icarus immerses himself in his new role and explores deeper into his boss’ history, which eventually leads him on the path to a secret stock of sweets hidden inside an old basement gum-ball machine.

 

As distraction stirs in the form of Dalloola’s relatives visiting from Istanbul, Icarus’ suspicions divert when he becomes besotted with Dalloola’s beautiful niece, Amora. Amidst their flourishing new friendship, Icarus takes the shopkeeper up on his mysterious offering to secure his luck over Amora’s love.

 

However, the consequences of this wildcard decision might just expose the dark secrets that the shopkeeper has been holding close to his chest all along…and Icarus’ fate, once sealed, will be bittersweet.
